Do they have pics of actual dresses they have made?  Those are definitely pictures from the original designers.  I would ask to see samples of dresses they have made before making a decision.  Have you considered Jasmin’s Bridal?  I know a lot of bees have had great luck with them, and they have plenty of pics of dresses they have made.

@Chunkyswifey143:  Well, I went with DressilyMe and my dress is amazing. I know they do custom work too, but from the looks of that dress I would go with the Jasmine’s Bridal Shop place that a lot of the bees on here have recommended. It’s not that I don’t think that DressilyMe would be down for task, but I think they are better with simpler designs and the listed dresses they have on the web site. It is more expensive, but probably way less than the designer gown or having a local seamstress.

Sidestory: I had a local seamstress start my dress for my first wedding and it was a nightmare, to the point that I had to purchase a cheapie gown from David’s Bridal to use. This time around, I got some quotes for my gown from local seamstresses and they were going to be outrageously priced, plus time-consuming (fittings, communication, etc.).

You should probably look into some of the reviews of Jasmines on here. I know it helped me quite a bit to see ACTUAL people, rather than the junk on their website.

@Chunkyswifey143:  I can recommend Jasmine’s. There are 4 threads dedicated to Jasmines (part 4 can be found here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/jasmines-bridal-shop-china-dresses-part-iv).

A few questions for you:

1. Have you tried that dress on before?

2. Do you have close ups and/or more pics of the dress?

3. What’s your budget?

Jasmines can only replicate what they can see and so they need to be able to see all the details on that dress. Keep in mind that they cannot replicate it to be exactly as you see in the pic. They’re not the cheapest either, but their work and service are phenomenal.

The one thing that I’m concerned about with the dress is that it’s a very low cut dress. You will need to be spot on with your measurements, otherwise it will be result in costly alterations.

@Chunkyswifey143:  Is it an inbal dror? That’s the only Israeli designer I can think of. A few other bees have had Jasmine replicate that designer though I’m not sure if they’ve made that dress before

I think your budget is reasonable. Best thing to is to email James and he can give you a quote. You could also ask if he has made that dress before. Keep him mind that the lunar new year is on the 10th Feb, so he is very busy with completing and sending out orders before the holidays. Best to wait till after the 10th to send out an enquiry.

@Chunkyswifey143:  Yes agree with @babecake:  with a back that low, you should expect to have alterations.  Also from what I can see of the dress, I can guarantee you that it has been photoshoped.  Have a look at the way the bodice sits.  To keep it that flat with such a low neckline (front) it must have double sided tape.  With normal movement it would gape.

Also the back, very hard to imagine how the dress stays up.  There must be some sort of ‘skin tone’ sheer layer that holds it together.

James will be able to tell you to what extent they can replicate this dress.  And, honestly, I cannot imagine any other company even having a go.  Jasmines Bridal are really amazing, have a read of some of the posts.  Keeping tabs so I can follow your story.

@Chunkyswifey143:  I really think there must be something holding all that beading together.  Have a look at the top of the back, base of neck. The beading there just seems to come up to a peak.  How does that stand up?

Jasmines’ beading is amazing, everyone will vouch for that.  Let’s see what James says, I know he loves a challenge, but has been known to refuse to make a dress if he thinks it may not meet the client’s expectations.  These are their contact details, so I think you e-mailed someone else.  Be careful.  It is also really worth checking out their face book page.  Lots of real dresses on there.
