I have decided I want to make things as hard as humanly possible for myself and get my bridesmaids’ dresses custom-made. DressilyMe has gotten back to me and has said they could do this, but I don’t know what happens now.
Do they give you a quote up front?
They asked for pics of the backs of the dresses. These pictures I found are of dresses from the 1950s, mostly that I found on Pinterest. A lot were taken from Ebay and vintage sites, and the original dresses are no longer available (so the link is essentially broken; the pics are gone). What do you do if you can’t get a pic of the back?
At what point do you need peoples’ measurements? What’s the best place to get this done? I don’t really want them to go to Davids or something to get them. It seems disingenuous since we won’t be purchasing from there.
Can they send you a color chart? I don’t want the mint green to arrive robin’s-egg blue!
I still need to do some work in photoshop to make sure these dresses will even look good mint green tulle, and whether they will look good together. But after that, not sure how to proceed with DressilyMe. Any advice would be appreciated–I’d love to just go to Alfred Angelo or something, but NOWHERE has the color I am looking for!
