I am talking to a designer about my wedding gown. He is reputable, but in the pageant world. I think he has not designed that many wedding dresses but is obviously well versed in pageant gowns. He has the more sleek, sexier style that I desire (I want either mermaid or sheath) and I think his understated look could look phenomenal in a garden wedding. Is this too risky? Should I just stick to getting a wedding dress from a bridal store?
If I had to design a gown, I would only use him. He is extremely good at communication and I have friends/contacts who have used him previously for pageants within the Miss USA system. What are your thoughts about custom-made dresses? Unfortunately he lives across the country! I would just be relying on his sketches. I am a bit scared but his prices are so wonderful and I am finding many gowns to not have what I desire (been to 5 stores now). I have one last appointment. I’m thinking about going to that at the end of August and then touching base with him again if that doesn’t pan out.
