I must say, notwithstanding the opinions of others, I LOVE Pnina gowns! I’m all about the “excessive,” over-the-top bling and sheer corsets. I think her “sexy” dresses are spot on for me. To each her own, so please just advise on the custom gown process and experience. *flowers*
Anyhow, found a picture of a gown I love, but nobody could identify it. It was suggested that it was a Pnina, so I contacted Kleinfeld’s. Sure enough, it’s a custom design. I’m waiting to hear back from them about getting a similar dress made.
Did you have a custom gown made?
Did you go with Kleinfeld’s or another dress atelier?
If it was not a Pnina, which designer (if any) was it?
What was the process like for you?
Do you think the cost was worth it?
Do you have any regrets?
Many, many thanks!!!

@chilecorona: Ooh, a custom design Pnina? Swoon!! What does it look like? 🙂

I love the embellishments! The corset will not appear sheer on my dress though because I plan to wear a steel-boned corset underneath. I’m ordering a custom plain white corset from the company that made my renaissance corsets.
I’ll wear something more comfortable for the reception. I’m used to wearing these corsets all day, but you really can’t breath well, so I would’nt be able to dance. LOL

That’s beautiful!! Good luck with the process of a custom dress, I’m sure it will turn out great! I am also a Pnina bride, but mine isn’t custom.

@chilecorona: What is your budget? I too ADORE all things Pnina! If I was rich and thin I would’ve gotten my reception dress from her and my wedding dress from St.Pucchi

I don’t have a budget per se, but if an estimate is exhorbitant, I won’t get it. I have well over a year to keep looking, and I’m not against a preowned Pnina that I could alter and embellish.

@chilecorona: have you seen a photo of the front of this dress? I have been very curious to see the front.

@nanikoa: No. I confirmed with Kleinfelds that it was custom and she didn’t have a pic. I’ve decided to go with a local atelier. Unfortunately, Kleinfelds was not all that helpful when I inquired.
