So I found an enhancer that I absolutely looove! I want it so bad and cannot wait until I can have it on my finger all the time! But after looking at the pictures I took of it so that I could admire it while I decide if it is completely 100% the ring, I started not liking the space between my diamond and the diamonds in the band. I went back to the store today and asked if there was a way to close that space up a little bit. They said that if I wanted, I could have the ring custom made, and they could design it around my ring so that that space wasnt there. I was all for it at first, until I asked if that was all done in the store, and she said that they do most work in the store, but things like that they would have to send my ring off with the plastic model or whatever it is so that they could make sure to make the ring so that it perfectly matches my ering. I dont want to part with my ring, even for a week, and I wouldnt mind if I was just leaving it in the store, but I dont like the idea of having it shipped somewhere else, that makes me nervous. So now I am kind of thinking, well maybe the gap wouldn’t bother me that much, and I should just deal with it. But I think I would rather have it custom made, also, she said it can take 8-12 weeks. The wedding isnt until September, but if it is going to take that long, I need to decide fairly soon so that I can get the process started incase it takes longer than I originally thought. I am nervous about building something custom and then having it not be exactly how I wanted it. Anyone have a good experience with having something custom made? Ill include a picture so you can see what I am talking about with the gap, is it worth going the custom route, or should I just stick with it the way it is and save the time, and the money (it would be about $600 more for the custom ring)?

@ChellFish22: My rings are custom and I love them.
Since you’re entertaining the custom route, have you looked for shops in your area where the work is done on site? That way you wouldn’t have to have your ring shipped and you could also do a price comparison.

If you can afford it, get it custom made. If the gaps bother you now, they will probably drive you bonkers forever! Forever is a lot longer than 8-12 weeks! I made some pieces custom made over 10 years ago and have never bought stock jewelery since! As long as you know exactly what you want, make sure you articulate every.single. detail. to t
he jeweler. If you dont want the gap, you MUST leave the ring or face potential d
isappoinment! Just my opinion, but I am extremely picky with jewelry.

@iseapink: I do know what I want, and I do agree that it will bother me! And the jeweler pretty much said since I want that exact ring, just with the gap closed up a little, that it really wouldnt be that big of a deal to have it custom made, but it still makes me a little nervous! haha!

Hi date twin! 🙂
I’d try to part with the ring for a bit and get the custom! It’ll all be worth it in the end! your ring is beautiful by the way!

@RedWine13: Thank you! And HI date twin! lol. I am hoping that if I go the custom route I can talk to the jeweler and see if they can do it without sending my ring anywhere. The lady I spoke with said that if I was really not wanting my ring to leave the store they could probably work with me, so I am hoping!
@paperwhite: I havent looked at any other shops. I did not think that the price was that bad, it is about $600 more, but I didn’t think that was too bad. Especially since they already have the ring and know exactly what I want, whereas at another shop I would have to try and recreate the ring completely, and it might not be exactly what I wanted.
