Are there any bees out there who had their e-ring custom made but don’t live near the jeweler any longer? I am a little worried about the care for the ring after I move.
I don’t know much about the care of a ring other than cleaning it truthfully. (I haven’t gotten my ring yet, it’s almost finished!) I know some chains require annual or semi-annual inspections…what should/can I do to make sure my ring is taken care of once I’m no longer around my jeweler? Does insurance on the ring require inspections? Can you bring a ring to any jeweler for inspection?
I’m just pretty confused about all of this lol Thanks bees =)

@soontobemrsm11: I have a custom e-ring and wedding band (its a wrap) and my jeweler suggests checking the prongs for loose stones at least every 6 months. If I didn’t live near my jeweler anymore I would find a nearby one who will check it for a reasonable price.

@soontobemrsm11: my ring was custom made and due to him being in the military i will have to find someone to check stones, recoat and such, wherever it is that we move. i think it’s definitely worth it because you will have a one of kind ring that you will love.

Mine was bought cross country.

Mine was bought online. Most jewelers will inspect it for free even fi it wasn’t purchased from them, because it could mean future revenue for them if they build good customer rapport and if you ever do need repairs in the future.

I’m not sure if just any jeweler will work on your ring due to it being custom made. I’m sure you will be able to find a place that will, but I would definitely avoid going into any chain stores. From my own experience they dont really like people coming in with jewelry not from their store. Other people may have experienced something different but my experience wasnt very pleasant.

@Cupcake29: I don’t particularly love chain stores either. The only place I had a pretty good experience at was Jared.
Thanks for your input bees! I hope I can find a reputable jeweler who will do free inspections! I’m glad I’m not the only one who cant go back to the original jeweler.
