I know we’re probably going to get them when we send the formal invitations, but are we suppose to put the custom ones (our picture on the stamp) on the RSVP envelope too or will any ol’ stamp do?? What about for the STDs?? Do we use custom stamps on those too?? Or can any other wedding related stamp do the job?? How about just a reg. ol’ stamp we got laying around the house?? TIA!!

wow, i never even knew you could do this. i think either way has its advantages. if you keep it only to the wedding invitation, it will give that extra special touch. but you if you put them for all the things you mentioned, then its like a consistent touch all the way through. are you worried about price? if so, then i think its fine to just stick to putting them on the invites.

I think you can put them on whatever you want. We used them just on the reply cards because its the only one that the people will get to see that hasn’t been metered and therefore marked on.

I have found some great sales at zazzle, so that the prices of the custom stamp are just about the same as regular stamps, so we are putting them on EVERYTHING. Save-The-Date Cards, RSVPs and our invites. Have fun!!

our invitation designer did stamps for us with our monogram (the one in my little picture <
) which was in teh same colors, fonts and motif as our stds and invites. our rsvp stamps had the same motif with “rsvp” on them, and our Save-The-Date Cards had “save the date” on them. so cute!

Whoa… relax! 🙂 I guess reading the wedding blogosphere too much can confuse a person about what is proper etiquette, and what is just something that some people think is cute and enjoy doing. Of course you don’t have to have custom RSVP stamps! We did, because we liked them and wanted them and enjoyed how they matched the custom stamps on the invitation envelope, which matched the invitation itself, and just had a nice complete overall look. One thing to consider is that your RSVP stamps will be different than your invitation stamps because the metering will be different. For example, your custom invitation stamps will likely be around 68-78 cents, depending on how big and heavy your invitation is, whereas your RSVP stamps will only be 44 cents. We got our RSVP stamps with “RSVP” printed across the same image that’s on the invitation stamp. But you can really do anything at all.

Are zazzle sales still on by any chance?

You can get 44 cent wedding ring postage stamps @ the post office. We did the cake stamp for our invitation (we had a cream and green cake!).

@plantains I got them about a month ago, but I signed up for zazzle emails so I could get all the sales!

Nobody will notice, or miss the custom stamps, just save the money. We got married at a contemporary art museum and used the Abstract Expressionism stamps. Only 1 person mentioned it. Don’t stress over this!
