My fiance got me a gorgeous low-set (bezel) round halo ring in white gold. Here it is: http://i46.tinypic.com/2mi3xu0.jpg
The problem with it is that it does not have a matching wedding band. Therefore, my options are to 1) have one custom made or 2) wear one with a gap between the two. I prefer to have one custom made (that sits flush together, instead of having the gap.)
I have really small hands, so I was trying to avoid this look: http://weddingringsets-1.com/wp-content/uploads/Halo-Engagement-Rings.jpg which I feel would need another one on top to make it balanced/even, and just altogether would be too much bulk for my taste. I would much prefer this look: http://cdn-s3-2.wanelo.com/product/image/1538358/original.jpg
I visited a number of jewelers and the only way to achieve this would be to take a small notch out of either side of my e-ring and have a custom band made to fit underneath. The effect would be similar to this: http://i49.tinypic.com/1zve993.jpg
I was wondering if anybody has had a similar experience to this, and if you might be able to share pictures of your rings together, and also the e-ring alone with the notches. The notches are not suposed to be visible from the top, but would be a little visible from the side. Also, did you go ahead and get a wedding band and an anniversary band to have them flanking either side of the e-ring?
I’m actually thinking of getting the wedding band done in rose gold. I love this mixed metal halo e-ring: http://www.jmedwardsjewelry.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Img04842-480×480.jpg so I thought having a rose gold wedding band would kind of give me that look/effect. The jeweler is trying to get me to make 2 bands (1 wedding, 1 anniversary) to flank either side and have that balanced/symmetrical look (like this: http:https://www-static.weddingbee.com/pics/239136/Untitled.jpg ) but I am thinking that I’m okay with having just the 1 rose gold wedding band with the white gold halo e-ring, like this: http:https://www-static.weddingbee.com/pics/160509/together.jpg
Anybody have mixed metal (rose & white gold) ring sets? Did you go with 2 rings (wedding, anniversary) flanking either side of the e-ring, or did you go with just the wedding band and the e-ring?
My other idea was to get the custom wedding band made in white gold, which would look fine alone with the e-ring. Then maybe have a pretty rose gold wedding band made that I can wear alone (without the e-ring).
Decisions, decisions! Curious to hear your thoughts/suggestions/ideas, and to see your rings!!
