I have the Dantela 2620, which comes in 3 sizes. I originally had the md size but just upgraded to a larger stone that the md wouldn’t accommodate. My choice was to upgrade my ring to the bigger one (Tacori has a little known-about upgrade program) or I could change the basket to the larger basket, keeping my same shank (band). I chose to keep my shank as I prefer the width of it vs the 2620lg. So Tacori basically “chopped” the head off my ring and replaced it. It looks amazing. You can’t tell in any way that they didn’t just recast the entire ring. I think that since everything is hand-made, they can accommodate almost anything…as long as your willing to pay for it.  And I think if what you want won’t look right, they won’t do it. I’ve heard the Tacori “artisans” or whatever they are called are quite snobby about their work, which isn’t a bad thing as I wanted my ring to be perfect.

We had them do a customization and considered a differently one. We went with a rose gold solitaire and switched the stones under the basket, which they were happy to do, and provided us with a list of prices and other melee options they had such as pink sapphire and whatnot.

We also considered switching the prongs to platinum. That would have cost somewhere around $300 if I remember correctly. But, since the whole basket was one piece, it would have had to be cast together, and so the whole basket would have been platinum while the cathedral sides rose gold. So, if you like the head of one style and the sides of another, keep in mind that you’ll have to take the whole basket and not just the halo/prongs most likely.

Hi dantine17 :  ! I’m wondering what you ended up doing for your ring!? I’m in love with this setting but will have a stone smaller than 2ct.
