I really love all stones that are cut well no matter what shape as long as the clarity and color are appealing as well.  I would probably put round brilliant cuts and princess cuts at the bottom for rings (love them in earrings) because I prefer more unusual cuts, especially in engagement rings.  That is not to say that I wouldn’t love to wear a round brilliant or princess (I have both) I just prefer shapes that are a bit less common.

@chica95110:   like how you added the polish! LOL. what are the spec’s on your stone? Nice!

I prefer round brilliants for their brilliance!. However I think pears are beautiful too!

This is my rhr-.42 carat G vs2 Tiffany & Co diamond:

I prefer a round brilliant cut because I’ve never seen anything with quite as much fire. I don’t like the sharp corners of princesses but a cushion intrigues me. Asschers and emeralds are pretty but I’m not sure how I feel about the step cuts. So not to say that I wouldn’t buy any other shaped diamonds but round is my favorite!

Mine is my mother’s diamond – 1.09, J, ideal cut, VS2 with a strong blue florescence.

My favorites in order are solasfera (some day! *daydreams* basically they’re a round with 10 arrows instead of classic 8), round brilliant, oval.
