Hi there!

You’d be surprised what you can find int he city for even less than $25.  25 people isn’t so hard and a lot of brunch venues in the lower east side can accomodate with that price for a brunch menu.  There are dozens of cute little places I found just walking around downtown!  Try going to sites like yelp.com, citysearch.com, menupages.com and search for ‘inexpensive brunch."  Dozens of places will show up.  I’d recommend Essex house and La Bonne Soup for small parties but there’s plenty more.

If you’re looking for a more exotic menu – try asking Thai restaurants.  They usuallly can accomodate a family style lunch for aruond that price (with tax and tip inclusive!)

Good luck on your search!

I agree!
I think we can better help you if you tell us what kind of place you are looking for? Are you looking for a restaurant with a private party room that you can hang out at for a couple hours? Indoors? Outdoors? Food category? Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or Dinner?

If she’s having a vintage style wedding I think Serendipity would be a super cool place to have a bridal shower! They have food & sweets and although they don’t have a party "room" their second floor is small and should accomodate 25 easily. Therefore then you have your own "space" as well. Definitely call early because their reservations book fast!

I had mine at Payard’s on the UES. I don’t know what they paid, but I’m pretty sure it was about in your price range. We had a really cute tea in a private room!

Serendipity’s and Alice’s Tea Cup is on the pricier end and honestly, I don’t think it’s worth the money.  They are cute places, though!

How did your search go?

I wanted to let you know that Metro Cafe has a mezannine area that would be perfect for a group of 25 and it’s semi-private.  The guy there was nice enough to work a menu that would fit our budget and he did a great one for $22 pp.  If you’re still looking for a place – you might want to check it out!

How about something that’s not so food related? is there a cute venue that you could have the bridesmaids each bring a tray of goodies? I love the idea of a tea shop, but I can see how it’d get pricey. Even a picnic in the park and DIY sandwiches? I know it’s a lot of work….I dunno, mine was self-catered basically at my own house and it still turned out really well! My Mother-In-Law and SIL threw one with about 30 people in their living room and we fit just fine.

What about a coffee shop??? Coffee and breakfast pastries? Mmm =]

I really like  ejs4y8 idea of a picnic or something like that, if weather permits!  There are tons of places in NYC to get picnic-ready food – such as Chelsea Market, Zabars, Murray’s Cheese or different bakeries and deli’s.

BUMP! I am looking for a cute place to throw a brunch bridal shower in the NYC / NJ area. But my girls really want to cut costs and make the food. (Which will be fine as one of them is a cook). Any suggestions on small spaces we could rent for a few hours with no food restraints?

My bridal shower was at Lucey’s Lounge in Brooklyn. The staff was really accommodating, we were able to bring in our own food and we had a great time. They have a cute little back room that we had all to ourselves.

Any more suggestions for a place to bring our own food in North / East New Jersey?
