I had my pre-pregnancy check up with my ob/gyn yesterday and she gave us the green light to start ttc after this cycle, the first cycle off BCP when my body is more regular. I’m on horse pills (prenatals) and the excitement/nerves are building. I’m wondering if I’ll get a BFP within the next couple of months!
I’ve always wanted to tell my husband in a cute/fun/sweet way that he was going to be a daddy but am not sure how to do it when the time comes! Anyone else ttc and wondering how to tell your man when you test positive? What are some of the best and worst stories you’ve heard! I’d like to hear them 🙂
luck and baby dust!

@SimplyChic11: I would like to be pregnant in the next year or two. My BFF was a few days late and I found a cute little baby jersey on ebay where they would put the last name on the back. It was super cute because you could pick your husband’s favorite team.

I think a lot of people just get so excited that they wave the pee stick in his face.
I’m not going to pretend I have any more self control, but I happened to test over my lunch break one day at work. I picked up a card that said “I love you” on the front and “I love us” on the inside with two big hearts. We sometimes grab a cute card for no reason for each other so he wasn’t suspicious yet. But on the inside of the card, I drew a third, smaller heart and wrote “…all THREE of us” underneath. It took him a second but I could see the realization just wash over his face and he just grabbed me and picked me up, spun me around, and put me back down ever so gently. It was so cute!

I am planning to have his ring engraved with 1+1=3– it came from a TV show, but he hasn’t seen it, so I think it’ll be cute.

Haha I know what you mean. I asked if Darling Husband wanted to watch the pregnancy test turn after I took it since we’re trying but I think he’s scared to. XD Too much nerves for the poor guy.
I do want to tell him in a special way but I have no idea how. I thought about taping it somehow because I know he’ll be happy and probably cry.
Honestly he’ll probably find out by finding me sobbing when the realization hits me and I’m scared to death of the prospect of giving birth! lol.

Also: I’ve thought about putting a baby something around the house, like in the glass cupboard and having him get me a drink later and opening the door to find a bottle or something. Or laying a onesie on the bed next to folded laundry and asking him to go hang up a shirt or something so he’ll see it. Darling Husband can be so oblivious I bet he’d get the glass or fold the shirt and think nothing of it!

We’re not TTC yet, but I really want the moment when I tell him to be special. I’m thinking about ordering our dog a “I’m gonna be a big sister” dress, and dressing her in it to tell him. I also thought about getting a onsie with our favorite band’s logo and giving it to him as a surprise gift. Both would have to bought it advance, since I couldn’t wait for the mail to come! haha

@Mrs. Gremmlin: LOVE the dog idea!!! Too cute!

@SimplyChic11: ah, I think we are close to the same schedule! my doctor told me just to stop taking the pills, and I just started what will be my last pack on Sunday. sooo, 4 weeks from now I am officially TTC!!
Anyway, even though we aren’t actually TTC yet, I saw the cutest onesie online the other day and bought it in anticipation. Darling Husband plays guitar and the onesie says “Daddy is my Guitar Hero” – I thought it was adorable, so it’s now hiding in my office until the day I can take it home and give it to DH! =)

@Mrs. Gremmlin: OH MY GOD. I love the dog dress idea!! I might have to steal that if you don’t mind 😉
I thought of getting him some kind of Daddy onesie and a bunch of “baby movies.” What To Expect When You’re Expecting (we just watched it and loved it), Baby Mama, etc. We’re big movie people 🙂 but if we’re being realistic, I’ll likely run out of the bathroom and shove the stick in his face!

I asked my Darling Husband if he wanted me to surprise him or if he wanted to be there when I take the test, and sinch he chose to be there when we find out I don’t get to find a cute way to tell him 🙁 but I have decided that I will video tape the moment we find out and then when we tell our parents and our best friends and make a little movie out of it instead.

When we started TTC, I bought an adorable little cow infant hat. Darling Husband, for whatever reason, really likes cows so I thought he’d get a kick out of it. When I got my BFP, I wrapped the hat and pregnancy test in colorful tissue and tucked them into a cute gift bag, which I presented to Darling Husband when he got home from work that night.
I think he liked it. 🙂

On my soap opera, I saw a woman put her test in a long little gift box and present it.

Darling Husband has always said he would want to be there when I test ans he hates the thought of me testing if he is at work or out somewhere, and I agree, I think if I suspected I was pregnant I would have to twll Darling Husband straight away and then test with him there with me!
Alsdo we have been trying TTC for over two years now ( I recently got diagnosed with PCOS) so we have had lots of false hope and negative tests, so when we do finally get one,it will be even more special because we would not be expecting it!(we try not to build our hopes up so dont get too excited if Im going to POAS lol)

@SimplyChic11: I literally stood at the doorway with the pee-stick in my hand. I WOULD NOT be able to wait to put something sweet in place. LOL.
