So Fiance and I want to ask this couple that we are good friends to stand at our wedding. I have known the gentleman for about 11 years and he is with his girlfriend of 2 years who is a fantastic person that I have come to know really well. She actually came wedding dress shopping with me on friday and helped me pick out my dress.
And they are also coming with me to a bridal show today.
So I would really like to ask them to be our witnesses and sign for us at our wedding. They are into board games, food and dice games so I was trying to think of ways to incorporate their interests when we ask them. Or any other cool and creative ways to ask them. I did try to google this but it all I could find was ways to ask bridesmaids and they were a little too girly for what I was going for (remember there is a guy involved too).

is it too girly for your taste or too girly because there is both a guy and a girl involved? Are you and your Fiance both doing the asking? I guess my thought is that you don’t have to ask them both together. You could ask each separately so that your invitations are personal to that person specifically.
Most guys I know don’t need a “formal” invitation, it’s very casual! 🙂
How about taking them to a nice dinner (since you said they like food) and just ask them simply and directly? I know it’s not so creative, but I’m sure they would be delighted. Do you bake? maybe you could make cookies and write one word on each cookie.
Board games–any one in particular? How about Monopoly, but you swap out some of the community chest cards? Cranium: you could make it a clue that you act/draw out?

Maybe just create a little game to ask them?
Or design a card with a game theme?
Or maybe just host a night in their honor with games and food and ask them then?

Make a puzzle that once finished say’s ‘will you be our… ‘.
I’m making cupcakes spelling the question for my BMs, in case it helps.

I saw on a blog a bride is getting personalized hankies with sayings on them like: Maria, will you be my Maid of Honor? xoxo Sarah Her bridesmaid, flower girl and Maid of Honor will then use them on the wedding day. I thought it was a very elegant way to ask. She’s getting them from Li’l Inspirations if anyone is interested.
I’m probably getting mine from there too.
