I went to a salon for pedicures while I was pregnant.  And before I got pregnant.  And still do now that my baby is 20.  LOL.  I can’t imagine having to cut my own toenails while pregnant.  Will your Darling Husband help and would you even trust him to?  I think it warrants a trip to the salon.

I don’t think there would be a way to do it. At 29 weeks there’s no way I could do it anymore. I just get pedi’s, however, Darling Husband has also started shaving the bottom of legs at this point as well, since I can’t reach them.

I’m 39+5 and managed to cut my own toenails a couple weeks ago. I kind of had to sit on the floor and pull my feet up separately. It wasn’t comfortable, but I didn’t want big nasty toenails either.

Also, as long as you are not twisting from the waist, you will not hurt the baby. It’s got a big ole water bubble around it.

If it’s a huge deal, I’d just go pay for a basic pedicure.

ETA: Maybe Im just a freak. I can still shave my own legs too, even with my MASSIVE belly.

I am not pregnant but I know when I am, Darling Husband will be responsible for this type of stuff. LOL

I get pedicures (plus it’s a treat for my aching feet!) but there are long-handled toe nail clippers that you can order online. I work in home care, and many patients have flexibility/mobility issues, so I know that option is out there.

I asked my husbadn to do paint my toe nails and he did an awful job lol, the nail polish was lumpy because he couldnt get the hang of it. I have figure out how to reach my toes. I sit like I’m crossing  legs for yoga but I only cross one leg at a time andI’m able to reach my toes that way, but I only get a sideways view of my feet that way.

If you go to a nail salon, they will do a cut-down/polish change for under $10, and it only takes about 10 minutes.  A better option if the full pedicure is too much a $$ stretch or you’re pressed for time.

I can easily reach them still at 29 weeks, but I prefer to get pedicures because I like the pampering.

I managed this the other day at 32 weeks.  I propped one foot up on the toilet seat and stood with my legs kind of far appart so that I could bend over and the belly would go between my legs.  Then I just clipped as quickly as i could.  It was probably pretty funny to watch, but it got the job done.  I still shave my legs too, but I sit down in the shower to do it.

I can still reach my toes to clip if I’m sitting indian style at 39w4d… I did ask my Darling Husband to paint them for me since we had a surprise early spring and I wanted to wear flip flops… bless his heart… I have hot pink polish all over my toes.

If you’re trying to bend and are worried about hurting the baby, just take it slow, and you’ll feel uncomfortable/pain yourself before you could even come close to hurting the baby.

I’m not pregnant and have no advice on this… However, I currently have a neck/shoulders/head injury so I can’t shave my legs… My dh shaved up to my knees for me this past week… It was really funny… We laughed our way through it and joked about it being practice for when I’m pregnant 🙂 he was very proud of his work!

The last time I trimmed my toenails, I sat on the toilet and put one ankle on the opposite knee (kind of how guys sit when they’re “crossing their legs”) and approached it from that angle. Not the easiest, but it got the job done. At 32 weeks, I’ve decided it’s just not worth the effort anymore and will be getting a pedicure every 3 weeks (because I also like pretty, painted toenails).

Still shaving my legs (sitting on the shower floor to do that one) – hardest part is getting back up! And I think I’m ready to throw in the towel on shaving the bikini area – I’m going to get a wax in the next few weeks. Hopefully, I’ll only need one and that will take me to L&D.

I’ve been getting pedicures.  It’s my happy time.  🙂
