Just looking for some experiences on getting off the pill. I got off of the pill last month and I’ve been reading all kinds of posts about getting off. How women sometimes go months without a cycle or have cycles all over the place. I have been so regular on the pill, I start on the same day of every pack. If I would have continued my pill, I would have started yesterday, and I did. Right on time, without the pill. Is this uncommon? Too good to be true? Hopefully I will stay this regular and on track; (I planned my wedding and honeymoon around my cycle thinking I would still be on the pill, don’t laugh LOL) Will this help me when we decide to start TTC after wedding? Any thoughts?

My cycles were exactly the same after I went off the pill too!
Keep in mind though that you may still have some irregularity with future cycles. It’s possible…but again for me, I never had that issue!
You may want to look into charting and temping if you want to keep an eye on when you’re ovulating. It’ll make it even easier to conceive!

My OB/GYN and Web MD claim that things should go back to how they were pre-pill, and it doesn’t take time for the hormones to get out of our system or anything. So it sounds like you’re healthy and normal! Best of luck with everything =) I’m just starting to figure this stuff out too!

I think we all hear a lot more about the worse case scenarios than the norm. It’s great that things seem normal now, though like PP said sometimes it can still get a little wacky.
I went on the pill ages ago because of irregular periods, so I expected them to be crazy going off. I’ve been charting my temps since stopping it and it helps me determine when my period will come. First cycle was 39 days, but I knew to within a day that i was starting, and this cycle seems to be heading towards 27 days. I’m definitely ovulating at least.

My cycles were shorter after the pill (25-26 days instead of 28) and they regulated to that shorter cycle immediately. I think some bodies do better with regulating quickly than others. No idea why.

seems like i went straight to 28 day cycles. (mind you i’ve only had 1 cycle off the pill). i went off Apr 10 and after the withdrawal bleed my next period was May 11.

My first period after going off BCP came right on time, too. But the cycle after that was only 22 days long, and after that they evened out at 25-26 days for the past 7 cycles. Before going on BCP (forever ago!) my cycles were 29 days, so it’s not exactly the same before and after the pill, but my cycles are regular now. Hope that helps?

You might just be fortunate that your cycles stay regular. That would be awesome to be able to count on your cycles (especially for TTC). Hope things work out for you!

My first cycle off the Pill was 35 days and in the space of twelve months they ranged from 28-33 days (between 31-33 days after about six months). I was pretty regular before I started taking BCP’s.
