It sounds like your Fiance is thinking of pills from 40 years ago.  Modern pills are low dosage and there is no benefit at all to cycling off them unless you are having some kind of issues related to the pills, which you aren’t.  It’s up to you if you stay on them or not, but there is no reason to stop them unless you choose to do so.

You definitely don’t need to cycle off the pill. Modern ones have such low doses compared to the past that it really isn’t a big deal to take them for long periods of time. Studies have shown that taking the pill actually lowers your risk of ovarian, uterine, and colon cancer. While the pill slightly increases your risk of heart attack/stroke, and possibly breast cancer, this risk would come back as soon as you started taking the pill again, so there is no point in cycling on/off.
