ANyone have one before? They suspect IC…Ive read a lot of places use general anaesthetic. Im only having a local bc thats all they do…And hes doing a pelvic exam? not comfortable with that either? my GP did all those tests and sent me to urology bc gun. there was nothing wrong…???
anyone? thoughts pls

I work in an OR and in 5 years, I have seen only one cystoscopy done under local and that was only because the patient was sick and general was too risky. We have done them under spinals too (epidurals but stronger). Do they do something like that?

I had one and I was under general anesthesia. Have you never had a pelvic exam before? I know they seem awkward, but it’s not really that big of a deal. Ask the doctor to tell you what they are doing so that you don’t feel uninformed. I don’t know how old you are, but you probably should start getting an annual exam from a gyno. Women need to start getting paps by 21.
