princessforever77:  hell no, I love love love it, the only person my fiancé had to please was me and he brought it for me and only me.  We can all spend our lives worrying about everybody else, but the truth is people will always have a comment wether it be big, small, diamond, non diamond, but truthly nobody really gives a s**t.  Wear what you love and love what you wear.

i wear a size 4.5 ring.  and i have a large diamond, it was heirloom from my grandmother’s engagement ring that Darling Husband reset.  at first it felt really heavy on my hand and humongous.  i wasn’t used to wearing rings.  but i got used to it pretty quick.  now i barely feel it, and the size doesn’t bother me.

when i ride the train, i turn my ering towards the inside of my hand.

princessforever77:  Hello! I think we are just about the same ring size so I wanted to show you my ring on my hand (I’m a 3.75 and depending on the width of the band, can go down to a 3.5)

My center stone is just over 2 carats and I think it’s just nice – I wanted to go bigger but now that I’ve figured out what band I want to go with it I think it’s just nice. Below is an Emerald (3.25 carat) that I was also looking at but it was either bankrupt my fiance or have the wedding I wanted and it was an easy choice ๐Ÿ™‚

I got a 1.5 oval cut halo and have a size 7 finger and I often times think it looks like a bit much.  In my area of the world most rings are very modest.  I feel like when people grab my hand and look at it they are thinking that I am materialistic (which is not true) and probably forced my fiance into spending too much money.  Even my mother feels it is too big.  If I could go back I would probably go a little smaller.  I LOVE my ring and the design, but I think I would be more comfortable with a smaller center stone.  I love wearing big rings, but there is just something different about an engagement ring.  But absolutely get what makes your heart flutter!!

I guess if i’m honest i would like to pass it off as a diamond even though i love moissanite for what it is and am choosing it over a diamond for ethical reasons.

Well, if you want to pass if off as a diamond then: a) it’s a crock of $%^# that you are choosing moissanite for ethical reasons; and b) you might want to think about something smaller–lots of folks will automatically assume something that large is fake.

princessforever77:  hello yes it’s a diamond ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t have much experience with moissanites, do they come in ovals? Have you looked at any of the vintage rose cut diamonds as well? Those are gorgeous and not as expensive as conventional diamonds. Some names to look up on instagram if you’re interested: jewels by grace, gemstone gypsy

the dimensions are 10.2×7.2 ๐Ÿ™‚ it’s just over two carats and the side stones are .3 apiece.

My fiancé also decided against a halo because he hadn’t seen that many nice examples of craftsmanship – it does make the stone look even bigger when done right though! I’ve decided to add bling on the wedding band though I’ve haven’t quite decided what to get yet ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

princessforever77:  9×7 sounds great for a sz 4 ring. FWIW, I don’t think there is such a thing as ‘too large’ or or ‘too small.’ Choose whatever you like best for your hand. I wouldn’t bother trying to fit-in with, placate,or impress others.

I have a 3.44 carat oval, 11.54 x 8.55 dimensions on a size 4.75-5 finger (fluctuates!) in a dainty halo. I love it! I am a cautious person by nature, so I definitely baby it but I don’t mind because that’s my personality and I probably would do that with my ring no matter what size the stone was. I don’t sleep, workout, clean, shower, etc. with it on and if I know I’m going to be carrying things around a lot for some reason, I err on the side of caution and leave it home so I’m not worrying about it.

My hands are tiny/short fingers FYI.
