I have a 4.5 carat cushion AG, but it’s sized to a 5.75. Definitely big, but I don’t think I would ever want to trade her in for anything else. We’ll see as time goes by😶

giggles2011:  That’s such a gorgeous ring! The size is perfect on you! And I love the band on your setting too.

natashanicole:  Beautiful solitaire. Stunning and classic. Too bad you say it looks glassy…I wonder if it’s the cut of your stone. I’ve had 2 different amora moissanites and one had more distinct facets and lines than the other. It was whiter too.

Scintillante:  Thank you so much! I was afraid she would be ginormous but I think I’ll get used to her real quick!

natashanicole:  I wonder if it just a difference between your expectations from photos, and how it looks in real life? Photos can be misleading, and your stone looks gorgeous in photos! Had you seen much moissanite in real life before you got it? I like moissanite for “what it is”, but it is not the same as how diamonds perform and look. I readily admit that though I do like moissanite (particularly OECs!) a lot, I prefer diamonds.

I am sorry you aren’t happy with it though. I had an 8.5mm moissanite briefly in the same setting (but yellow gold) and same size finger just to give the size a try and I found it too big. It was a beautiful stone, but I did not like how large or “lollipop” like it was (to me) and resold it quite quickly to someone who loves it.

RayKay:  I was going to ask if you felt yours was glass like, maybe I’m not even using the right word I just find it odd looking, I bought my mom one off DB I’m sure it was an eBay one it’s quite warm but it’ pretty (she loves it) I also just got a 5mm F1 moissy & I adore it I’m guessing it’s just the large size I’m not fond of I’m not sure honestly

princessforever77:  I have a 2.5 center stone and I am a 4.5 ring size. I think it is perfect now, though the first few weeks I was a bit concerned.

natashanicole:  Hmm, I don’t think I considered it as glassy, but now that you mention it, it did look almost too perfect maybe? But I had smaller moissanites that were perfect too, and I was not bothered by them. For me I think it really is size, in particular rounds of any type of stone just reach a point where they seem too big for me.

I don’t know, I was much happier with staying with stones 7.5mm and under, even though my original was an 8mm. Even the size of that one felt too much as time went on. This is opposite of how most people on here seem to be though, lol.

RayKay:  lol total opposite! So over time you never got used to the large size? Dang I guess I’ve been lying to myself thinking it will grow on me, I went large so I can have variety guess I need to admit I’m a dainty stone kinda gal

natashanicole:  I got used to the size, so that it was not shocking or anything to me, but was never quite happy with it, However, this might be in part because I originally  really wanted a 7.5mm, but they were sold out, and I went with the 8mm – and enough people told me I would not regret going bigger. I never regretted it, but it never felt quite “me”. I actually did later get another 8mm stone as that was all the setting I wanted took, and thought the setting made it seem even bigger…and never quite got comfortable with that one either.  My ring covers a lot more of my finger than either the 8mm or 8.5mm, but it seems less…big…and feels fine to me because it is not one big solitaire or centre.

It could still grow on you though! Give it some more time, if it still does not work than maybe look at resale. I know a couple people who are always looking for OEC moissanites that size on DB!

RayKay:  I know what you mean I have a diamond halo which seems to be about the same finger coverage but the solitaire just seems so odd, I will give it more time forcing myself to wear it! I wanna kick my self in the butt for not loving it I obsessed for weeks over getting it before I made the purchase lol

was this one yours? My favorite inspirational picture waiting for mine lol 😊

natashanicole:  Yes, that one was the 8.5mm!

Don’t be too hard on yourself. It happens!

4.0 ct on 4.75 finger, no regrets. I absolutely love it and get complimented on it daily. It was hard overcoming my shyness about it at first, but now its fun! i never felt it was TOO big, but now the size feels normal and I kinda just deal with it getting in the way by keeping it away from things. I love it!!
