The first part is fine, but it gets a little strange when he starts talking about the love affair and how you’re everything a man could want etc…

I think it’s definitely a romantic song, but I think it’s also really fine, and it’ll have more meaning to you and your dad than any other song, I bet!

It seems okay. It depends on how you want to view it. if you read it from a father/daughter stance it seems appropriate and if you read it as a love song between couples it could be okay as well. It’s art/poetry. It can all mean something different to everyone–just matters what it means to YOU

It made me tear up a little!  Your dad seems like a really great guy.  Maybe your dad could give a little intro on why he chose it.  When you have a child, life does have a new meaning.

Honestly I think it’s fine, I think it was probsbly intended as a romantic song, but there’s nothing too strange in there. Nothing creepy or anything. Actually I think it’s really sweet.

I think it’s perfect!  It can absolutely be interpretted as a father taking home his daughter for the first time.  I think it’s really sweet and I wouldn’t bat an eyelash at it.

It has meaning to you guys. I say use it. Besides, you have a very unique father who wants to be very interested in the dance. I say go for it.

I think us brides tend to agonize over all these tiny details, when the reality is that most people aren’t really listening to the lyrics when you’re dancing–they’re just kind of politely watching you guys (or at least that’s what I’ve done at every wedding I’ve ever been to).

So, I think this is fine!

I think it’s beautiful and completely appropriate. I get that the “love affair” line gave you cause for pause, but really, no one is going to be listening that closely to the words. And it’s just two words.

I think it’s fantastic and he’ll be so happy. And you are a good sport!
