Good luck!!  My Dad got sick right after we got engaged last year and spent several months on the list waiting for a Lung Transplant.  I know how it felt waiting for that phone call to happen, and then imagining how I would feel after it came and worrying about the surgery.  He miraculously no longer needs one (but still has constant checkups) and has been “de-listed,” but I can totally relate to the stress involved with going through most of the process.  We put off most of our wedding planning for a while trying to figure things out around his sudden and pretty serious illness.  Sending lots of prayers and good thoughts to you and your family.  He’s waited a long time for this (and so have you!) and I’m hoping everything goes well!
