I have about a month before I give birth to our son, and I wanted to make a “daddy basket” for my husband. He has been a rockstar lately, helping me with everything and making sure I am comfortable, so I’d like to give him a present for the day of for being just an awesome husband. I’d like to think a little more outside the box than just food. He loves Almond Joys and jerky, so I will be adding some things like that, but is there anytyhing else that he may want or need during after delivery?
Any and all suggestions welcome! Thanks, Bees!

I don’t have any suggestions, but I love this idea! Tagging to follow

Maybe not during the delivery but perhaps some magazines he likes so he can look at them during the hospital stay? My husband likes men’s health

That is super sweet! I’d add things that he likes to do that will keep him busy when in the hospital with you – magazines, books, games, etc. Depending on where you’re giving this to him, a 6-pack or small bottle of his favorite liquor. Maybe a cigar if he’s the type to want to smoke one to celebrate the baby’s birth.

What are your husband’s hobbies? Is he into football, tech, games, ect?<br />That could really help!
Are there any movies or anything he’s been interested in seeing? You could get him gift cards to go bowling, golfing, lazer tagging or whatever he likes to do.

I’d go with his favorite snacks like you mentioned, either some tiny liquor bottles of his favorite/ or a really nice bottle of a good liquor he can sip & save for special occasions/or champagne, some magazine’s/books that fit his interests, maybe a cute Daddy T-shirt or something?, I’d totally put something cute for the baby in there referring to the Dad (like those saying onesies “I <3 My Daddy” or “That’s smell is my Dad” or “I’m cute, mom’s cute, Dad’s lucky”), of course cigar’s for him & his bud’s to celebrate, and I’d include something to give him some time-off like a gift card to golfing or whatever his favorite activity is to de-stress once he needs a break…

I love this idea. No suggestions but I might copy it. My husband has been awesome and I’m only 14 weeks :-p

Magazine is a good idea. If he hasn’t read his most current magazines (he’s a hunting and fishing guy), I’ll stick those in there for fun.
That is a terrific idea! I decided to put root beer in there, lol. Closest thing to beer, and he will need some caffeine. I also added coffee to that list (perhaps a giftcard to Starbucks so he can get a coffee the next day?)
He is a music teacher, and he loves hunting, fishing, and BBQ. Not too much of a sports guy.
Awesome ideas! I am going to include a coupon book, and I did end up finding a cute shirt. It says, “I (barely) survived the delivery room. It’s a boy!” I might also get him a new dad shirt or something.

Also following! He’s been awesome, and I definitely owe him one. Or a thousand. 🙂
I love the idea of food/snack items, especially since DH will be home the week after delivery. It’ll be nice for him to have some stuff on hand. My husband likes fishing too, so it’d be cute to put some hobby items in there. Maybe a father parenting book, and I love the idea of magazines to read while home.
I also considered getting my husband a “manlier” bag to carry around when he has the baby, but he could probably rock a diaper bag. 🙂 This could be a nice place to use as a ‘basket’ though.

Wonderful idea and very thoughtful of you. In addition to all the goodies, a sentimental card would be nice too. 🙂
