(Closed) Daddy drama… HELP

I know you are mad at him, but not talking to him isn’t going to resolve the issue. Just tell him you are sorry, but you can’t move the date or get someone else to marry you because you have already put down nonrefundable deposits and you really want to get married now. Let him know that you understand that he is disappointed by this, but everything is already set to go. I don’t quite understand why he want you to change the date and get someone else to marry you, though.

@star_shine: I totally understand. My dad is kind of the same way sometimes, but I have learned how to handle it, so that it doesn’t get as bad as it used to be. Something that has helped me is to try to word things so that he thinks that whatever it is is his idea, even though it is really my idea.

@star_shine: When he does that, just say in a calm voice. “Dad, I am really sorry, but I can’t talk to you right now. Please call me back when you are calmer.” and then hang up. If you do that enough times, he will get the idea, and then talk to you with more respect, or not at all. You need to put the ball in his court, so to speak.
