i know there are tons of these posts floating around but i just needed a 3rd party opinion on this. my dad’s all time favorite song is i can’t tell you why by the eagles and he will play the song on repeat for 30 minutes in a car. because of this, whenever i am missing him i listen to the song. now, honest opinion, is it too weird lyrically of a song to have as a daddy/daughter dance?

I LOVE the Eagles. I wish they had more “love” songs in their repertoire, because I would incorporate them all into my wedding.
Because this song has such a sentimental meaning to you and your dad I think it would be perfect for a Father/Daughter dance. I say do it! Only suggestion is that the full song is quite long – you may want to have your DJ cut it down.

I think since the songs means so much to the both of you go for it!

Not at all. It’s more about the meaning to you guys than the meaning of the actual song. My father/daughter dance song may seem too “romantic” to others, but it’s a song my daddy used to sing to me as a little girl 🙂

Practice dancing to it though before as the instrumental part doesn’t seem to change much 🙂

thanks for the advice bees! it is a crazy long song and would for sure be edited down quite a bit….no need to sway awkwardly for that long. lol.

you can never go wrong with the Eagles, especially if the song means so much to you both! cut it down to a few good minutes and it’ll be wonderful! 🙂
