I got mine at David’s Bridal in Dallas, but I live in Cedar Hill and the lady who owns Distinct Elegance is really sweet and helpful! I tried on a couple of dresses there, but they didn’t have anything short or simple, and I didn’t want a train or anything really fancy. A really good friend of mine got her dress there as well!

I didn’t know about the Stardust outlet at Willowbend, but I got my dress from the actual Stardust Salon *near* Willowbend. It’s a very large salon with lots of dresses. I had a great experience there…the consultant who helped me was SO nice and friendly, and so far I have had a good experience with the alterations department  (although I have only had one fitting). I also ordered my daughter’s junior bridesmaid dress there.

I don’t know if you have specific designers in mind, but the Stardust price range can get steep. I had called in advance looking for a particular dress; they didn’t have it, but when I arrived for my appointment, the consultant had already pulled a similar dress (the one I ended up falling in love with!!) for me to try on, and she let me know it was the cheapest dress they sold. :-/ I think she made that comment because I was looking to stay in a particular price range. 😉

I also went to the David’s Bridal in Frisco, the Alfred Angelo in Frisco, and the Demetrios in Frisco.

You might also try Terry Costa. I didn’t try on wedding gowns there, but they do have a decent selection of Maggie Sottero, Mori Lee, Allure (I think), and a few others of that caliber/price range. I got my veil there, and they also have an extensive social occasion/prom dress selection and I got a superawesome evening gown there for a formal event last month.

I got mine at Mockignbird Bridal.. I had a very bad experience there.. The ladies were rude and unhelpful, and they screwed up my measurements so my dress came in wrong.  Then the alterations ladies basically made me have the worst day of my life.  I was standing there half-naked while a bunch of Asian ladies talking about how large I was and how much weight I needed to lose.  I ran to my car and sobbed after it was over.  I ended up taking my dress and going somewhere else.  Awful, awful experience.. Definitely put a black mark on my wedding  experience 🙁

I had a wonderful experience at Stardust.. They are expensive by they know their stuff, and they are all so nice.  I wish I would have bought my dress there.

However I have heard a lot of bad things about Lulu’s, which is their sister store.  never been there myself but everyone I know who went there or got their dress there hated it.

Patsy’s in Highland Park was also wonderful, the ladies there are so nice.  very small selection but they are surprisingly reasonably priced for being in HP.  I found a gorgeous dress there for $1800 that is the spitting image of a 20k Oscar de la Renta dress.
