The gloves are off! No messin around here, ladies. I need your opinion, bees, and I need it now. Here’s the scoop:
I ordered the dress I instantly fell for because she was unique, vintage/mod meets Hollywood glam. I, as well as everyone I know, strongly believed that she was the closest thing to perfection for me. I was looking for a dress that was chic in silouette, modern in design with a vintage appeal and elegant, classy sophistication. I also am quite thin and didn’t want to emphasize this on my wedding day. I wanted a dress that brought out what little curves I do have and didn’t look as if it was still hanging on the rack. The dress that did me in, whom I ordered, had all of this and more. Now for the complication..
I, like many of you, noticed the unbelievable deals at Church Street Bridal, via Jeannette’s post. I fell for a Pnina Tornai that was greatly discounted, after having viewed photos and videos of the dress down the runway. It was lovely, feminine, romantic and very bridal. However, I was not completely aware of the sample dress’s conditon and that the thing I loved about it…the crystal sprinkled floral strap…was in very poor condition and needed replaced. I have contacted a seamstress and made arrangements to attempt to correct the dress’s imperfections, but…I’m not convinved she looks very flattering on me. Now, this is hard to say of a dress worth $8,500, but she just lacks shape on my body and really doesn’t seem to do much for my thin frame. In addition, the cups are very small and seem to smash my girls in a very unsightly nature.
Which dress best compliments my body type?!
Now, keep in mind, I will be adding sewn in cups or a backless bra to LIFT and SUPPORT. 😉
Before bringing in the dress just under the bum a smidge to make up for my lack of hips. 🙂
Pardon my kneeling, but my mirror is not exactly wall size and I didn’t have the convenience of a photographer. 🙁
Sorry for the huge pics and lack of a back photo of the Pnina, but the lace up ribbon needs replaced and the “pouf” below is torn open and needs stitched closed. The back is really quite unimpressive, until her stay with the seamstress.
