I was a pretty simple wedding planner. I was just requiring the basics, paying for vendors, etc. A friend offered to design my invitations, so we ordered paper and made a plan to print this weekend. Life was simple.
But nooooo. You bees with your phenomenal crafting skills and DIY ambitiousness got to me. And I started thinking, “well I can’t just put pieces of paper in an envelope. I mean, how plain is that?” And the paper itself? It had SQUARE corners. I know! Craziness! So before I knew it, I spent almost an hour at Michael’s today, browsing ribbons and corner rounders and punches.
And today, I completed my very first DIY project. It’s a mock-up of a belly band that I’ll use for our invitations. I know it looks simple and innocuous, but now I have these tools, and I’ve caught the bug. Before you know it, I’ll be building things, and designing things, and then my whole wedding will be completely personalized with tons of homemade touches! What have you done to me??
In all serious, you guys are very inspirational. Have any other craft-o-phobes caught the bug on this site and found themselves attempting to DIY?
