I am having trouble deciding between the Courtyard Marriott and the Ethan Allen for my room block in Danbury. CM offers a better area for us girls to get ready but the Ethan Allen is cheaper and about 10 minutes closer to our venue for our Friday night wedding. I was surprised that neither has mentioned throwing in a bridal suite if we had a minimum booking. Anyone else use either of these hotels? If so, what was your rate and did you get a deal on your room?

@mathbride: We didn’t end up going with CM, but I inquired with them regarding a room block. We didn’t go with them because the Sales Manager took forever to get back to us and I ended up going with the Hilton Garden Inn Danbury because the service there was so much better. We didn’t look at the Ethan Allen.
CM quoted us $99 for a king and $109 for a double queen (I was inquiring in Nov 2012 for an Oct 2013 wedding). This was the info we got on a complimentary room:
~The Wedded couple will receive a complimentary room night during their stay, with 10 guaranteed reservation room nights OR a complimentary upgrade with 30 guaranteed reservation room nights made by the group release date (based on availability). The reservation must be individually booked by the couple, outside the group block.
I would definitely follow up with them and ask!

@mathbride: we reserved rooms at the Courtyard for my June 8, 2014 wedding! We dealt with Desiree and she was extremelyyyyyyy responsive and helpful! We reserved two suites for the day/night of the wedding and were quoted $85/night for the king suites with early check-in at 11am! The guest rate we received is $119/night. We were going to look at Ethan Allen, but although theur guest rate was the same, their suites were $295/night each!!
You do get a complimentary room with 10 bookings and a suite with 30.
I was more than pleased!
