I would go with the dance floor, but try to negotiate the price down – that does seem high. Maybe you could get some sort of break if you (or someone you delegate) actually picked it up and set it up, torn it down and returned it – rather than the company coming out to do it.

I put yes, but not necessarily for the ambiance…. more so for the comfort of your guests. Carpet is carpet no matter how “thin.” It will be more pleasureable for them on a dance floor.
We are not having one, because we don’t have carpet.

We don’t have a “dance floor” for 6 months I was under the assumption that it came with the hall were renting because it didn’t say ANY differently on the website, etc. Well, come to find out about a month ago I found out it would $500 EXTRA to put the dance floor down – so I said screw it. They can dance on carpet, if people care that much then..well, not my problem
