We took lessons and still sucked, but we only took them because they were a gift — there’s no way we would have wasted the time or money otherwise because dancing isn’t that big of a deal to us.

We’re both decent dancers with pretty good rhythym, so we were okay without dance lessons.  Doing a fancy choreographed dance wasn’t really our scene.  Even though we did end up just kind of swaying, but it was fine with me.

Take dance lessons!  It is so much fun. Tonight my daughter, her Fiance, my husband & I, her fmil and ffil, and her ‘honorary’ grandparents just took the first of six lessons. It was really fun…we laughed and it was a good bonding experience. Lynneea and Ty were beaming.  I called a local dance teacher who teaches through comunity ed..she is doing 6 weeks for 5 couples for $80 a couple.  A really fun date night!

We’re taking dance lessons.   It’s definitely not my FI’s thing, but it is important to me that we don’t just ‘sway’…I just want to do a bit more.   We’ve only had one lesson so far…and, well, we stink.   Good thing we have 4 more lessons, and 9 more weeks of practice time!

Have you considered dance DVDs? Has anyone tried those?

we want to take salsa lessons for the wedding – ok I want! he’s still not completely with me on this, because he said that he’s sooo bad on the dancing floor.

I showed him some Pro salsa videos and told him we needed to do that, maybe that’s why he’s scared lol

I wish we would.  We still haven’t picked a song so there’s no way to learn one if we don’t know what we’re using.

as we’re still a year until our date we haven’t started thinking about the dancing yet, but we’re definitely planning on starting to take dance lessons next spring.

We’re doing lessons as my Fiance is very nervous about dancing in front of some many people! I think it’s probably good just to practice too!

We took a hour lesson from a member of the Berkeley Ballroom group.  It was helpful to just get some pointers.  We’re not great dancers (def. not capable of the coordinated dance thing), but I jsut didn’t want us to look like idiots.  It was not very expensive being through the University, so that might be an option.

We’re planning on taking lessons. =) We want to be able to dance at our wedding! (Unfortunately, we both kinda suck.) We’re both kind of accepting of the idea that we won’t be able to do a choreographed first dance, but we hope to learn some cool steps, and to pick up on the idea of what kind of dance goes with which kind of music.

Do it!  Lessons are so worth it and are way fun!  I had to drag my now-husband to lessons (as well as my dad)…but, he did tell me that he was so glad we did them.  None of our guests expected it and we received so many compliments on our dance.  During those final days up until the wedding, practicing your dance gives you and your love some precious moments together… we practiced in the garage! 🙂
