I dont watch the show but my little sister does.. I just saw a clip about little girls performing a very inappropiate dance routine and I was left Jaw dropped. Here it is :
What do you guys think? I honestly am against this show! And would love to start a petition and raise as much votes as I can to stop it. I think it influences our children very badly..

If you watched the show you would know that the moms and everyone didnt not want the kids to the routine… That routine is from last season. I think you not liking one clip is not enough to shut down a show… watch a few episodes before you start passing too much judgement

I don’t watch this show but OMG. I’m with you. I think my jaw literally dropped when I watched that. That is beyond inappropriate for that age group. What are these parents and choreographers thinking?!
I was in dance for 15 years, (ages 3 to 18), and I loved it. It shaped who I am to a very large extent. But it was NEVER like that.

I have more issues with how the kids are actually treated than the dances themselves.

Seen ads for it, they make me not want to watch it. But I really don’t want to get drawn in the whole kids dance/pagentry debate. I think these shows just make their money by showcasing people who take things to far.
My 4 year old does Ballet, and is begging me to start Tap as well. She loves dancing, and I will support her for as long as she loves dance.
But there is no way I am going to run around screaming “How many times has my daughter beat your daughter this year?”

Omg, I love that show, lol. My Fiance even started watching it because it’s just so ridiculous (the moms). I was in dance, and I wish I had a teacher that cared enough to make sure I could have been the best that I could be.

yeahhhhhhhhhhhh no. If I saw my kid practicing a routine like that, we’d be finding another dance studio, and I don’t give a s(#* how famous this lady is. Its hard enough to be a girl these days without having sexualization forced on you at a much younger age than is healthy – this is just shoving it right down their throats with a mini-pole dance routine.

I watch that show sometimes, the moms seem so petty to me, I dont get why they keep bringing their daughters to Abby if they dont trust her jugdment.

I watch the show and love it. The moms do get on my nerves almost constantly but I can’t stop watching. I danced from the ages of 2.5- 24 and like the PP it shaped who I am today. It helped me learn discipline – that allowed me to work full time & get 2 different BA degrees on my own.

@MsPanda: Your right- I shouldnt pass off judgement just yet, But from what Ive seen ( little views here and there when my sisters are watching ) Is enough for any person to judge and say that how the children are treated is terrible.. no child should go through that. ESPECIALLY from a teacher? Na uh. Ive seen petitions against the show – it didnt go to far though– I do think that a show like this should be taken down for the sake of many reasons, not just on one dance routine.

I sometimes drive past the studio where that show is filmed, depending on where I’m going. It’s a hit around here because it’s local, and I love it because it’s so…Pittsburgh.
