My fiancé and I are planning our upcoming wedding and I’ve search online looking for proper wording to invite guests to the dance portion only. However, every where I look it says, “If you can’t afford to feed your family/friends then don’t invite them at all!!!”. Our problem isn’t that we can’t afford to invite them, our problem is we don’t have ROOM. Our Hall only seats 300 and our list is close to 500. We asked about bringing in more tables but the fire code, etc., states we can only have 300 chairs in the hall. Knowing that a lot of people eat and leave, we’d like to invite people to come and celebrate with us later. We are having open bar all night long and serving food AGAIN at around 10:00, so these people will have free drinks on us and be fed. My question is, how would we word this so it makes everyone feel welcomed.
What I’m NOT looking for is negative criticism about not inviting EVERYONE to the church, dinner AND dance.
