- Wedding: May 2014
My fiancee and I were a little non-traditional in how we decided to celebrate our impending nuptuals. First, we did a huge engagement part (150+ people) so our families/parents could have their time to show off. But? When it came to the wedding, I knew I wanted an intimate day with only people who we actually see & interact with regularly. We have a 56 person guest list (including us) and our wedding is a Friday evening on a holiday weekend so I anticipate quite a few no shows. In the end, I am probably only expecting around 45 people and only about 10-15 of them are in my age group (the rest are older relatives).

Would you feel comfortable dancing in such a small group? In your experience, do people even bother dancing at small/intimate weddings? How can I try to encourage people in such a small group to dance? <br>
I have booked a live reggae duo (steel drums and guitar) that plays both upbeat dancy music (bossanova, calypso, etc.) and chill background music so either way, I am set. I decided we wanted live music because FH and I love going out for concerts. We also didn’t want a DJ shocking some of our older relatives with a bunch of rap/hip-hop hits.
