I have a bit of an issue. I chose dark blue and lime green for my nautical wedding. Problem is there are no real dark blue flowers (never even occured to me). I love hydrangaes but am open to other flowers (except roses not a huge fan). Does anyone know of naturally dark blue flowers or if hydrangaes or other flowers can be dyed dark blue?
Also looking for dark blue bouquet inspiration if you have any!

@missjewels: Beautiful wedding colors! But i’m totally biased – our colors were very close to yours 🙂 Flowers were tough for me too! What about blue dendrobium orchids? Are they dark blue enough?

Blue thistle is dark blue. There’s also grape hyacinth, though that’s more of a purple blue.

Orchids would probably be your best bet. I would suggest these with hydrangeas and maybe some green accents.

Naturally blue flowers include hydrangea, thistle (lots of varieties), muscari (but its a spring flower), gentiana (only available for short periods of time, at end of summer), and delphinium. Theres also privet berries and blueberry viburnum which are both navy blue berries. The delphinium comes in a nice dark blue. Hope that helps!

@missjewels: we had a nautical theme, I loved our blue!
(and white). Hydrangeas, blue dendrobrium orchids, stephanotis…loved mine!
