So I just reserved my tuxedos for my wedding at the end of October. I chose Vera Wang’s BLACK dark gray tuxedos. Our colors are navy blue, orange, and ivory. I’m going for a rustic, less formal theme. I wanted to be a little different, so we went with the gray instead of the formal black. My question is…what color vest should they wear? i want them to be able to take the jacket off for pictures/dancing without it looking weird (maybe its all in my head). As of right now, I chose a navy blue vest and tie (the bridesmaids are all wearing different navy knee length dresses with orange daisy bouquets). My groom is wearing a gray vest with a different blue tie. I have two ring bearers who are wearing navy blue suits (as they did not have dark gray in their sizes).
Should all of the guys wear a matching gray vest with a blue tie? If so, what could my groom wear to stand out?? What are the opinions of a gray suit with a blue vest/tie?

I think the navy vests and ties will look great. I did something similar for my wedding – we used MW’s dark charcoal shadowstripe tuxes. Darling Husband wore ivory vest and tie, GMs wore dark purple, and our dads and my brothers (ushers) wore silvery gray vests and ties. Our colors were eggplant purple, dark blue, and sage green.

I say go with the navy vests, especially if they are navy all around and dont have a black back. If they do have a black back of the vest ask if you can get it modeled for you so you like the look/color without the jacket on. If you dont like how it looks go with a matching grey vest.
We are date and suit twins! My Fiance just got fitted for his dark grey tux this week. Fiance will wear the tux with offwhite vest and tie. Groomsmen will be wearing the grey tux with eggplant vest (to coordinate w/ Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses) The fathers and usher will have the same tux but with grey vests and whatever tie they’d like.
