I want to help my fiancee make wedding arrangements. She has assigned me to coming up with good colour motifs for our big day. I’m not really the artsy type of person so I need others’ opinions whether we should have dark or light colours. We’re having a June wedding, on the 20th to be exact. It’s our second anniversary after knowing each other in a meet foreign tours. I think she would want to match our motif with the season. If I’m not mistaken it’s a day before the official start of summer. Wouldn’t it be nice to welcome the summer with a wedding full of summer colours? There are dark colours for summer and there are light ones too. I don’t know which one to choose.

I would think about your favorite colors and also consider picking the venue before picking colors…

Do you have a venue in mind? My suggestion varies greatly depending on the overall “vibe.” Here’s a few suggestions though!
Classic Garden Wedding:
Traditional Ballroom (liven the space up with rich florals):
Evening Wedding Under the Stars:
Fun, Quirky, and Untraditional:

wow! thanks for the wonderful suggestions! will I get in trouble if I like the indigo colors?

I can’t think of an indigo flower, but some beautiful blue flowers are hydrangeas, delphiniums, morning glories, hyacinth, just google the beautiful blooms. Although some are definitely more purple than blue.
Or if you two want flowers in a different colour, you could accent with indigo ribbons and stuff.

Absolutely not! Balancing navy or indigo with muted tones like blush or mauve can really freshen up a darker palette.
