My colors are dark purple/plum (depending on the swatch)…. I am having a hard time with my table linens. I wanted to do all the dining tables (20) in floor length plum linens, but now I think it might be to dramatic. I am now leaning toward Ivory, with plum runners??? Our wedding is at an old Plantation Mansion, outdoors…. want it to look slightly antique yet rich….

Not sure what you’re asking here but those are our colors too! I think that it would be very dark to have all the tables in the dark plum — but could also make it super romantic. Do you haev any "accent" colors? I think the Ivory linens would be easier to find and then you can accent the table with the dark purple flowers and/or candles? Sorry if I wasn’t more helpful. Be a little more specific on what you’re asking and maybe I can help!

I think that dark plum table cloths would look beautiful! I understand what you mean about too dark. What color are the chairs? What are you accent colors?

Have you considered ivory tablecloths with gold and plum as accent colors? I think it could definitely give you the antique, rich look you are going for.

i think that all plum/dark purple/aubergine linens would be gorgeous. and as far as going for a unique look — they would be much more unique than using ivory linens. just my opinion… of course i’m using black pintuck linens which will be dark but dramatic and romantic!

I say go with the dark linens. They would look especially pretty if you did crisp white napkins and white centerpieces.

I am doing purple damask table clothes. My wedding is at night outside on the france pavilion at EPCOT. We are doing a Halloween theme so dark was appropriate. We are using a lot of black lace and damask to make the theme more adult appropriate.
Dark linens can be beautiful and dramatic but its up to you and what you want for your big day. Do you want to make a statement, or do you want to use rich colors as accents? What is the feel you are going for?

Totally didn’t see that. I posted a helpful post, and yet, not so helpful it seems! I’ve fallen victim to a Zombie thread!
