Along the same lines as what you did, one of my favorite dates ever was to Toys R Us!! Wandering around the toy story and playing with the displays and seeing the strange toys that kids like nowadays was so fun!!! Plus, you don’t have to buy anything so it’s 2 hours of free fun!

Also, I loved going to the park and swinging on the swings on summer nights.

Obviously I’m a huge kid at heart!

We’ve done various things.  It’s great to look up tourist stuff in your area and see what you’ve never done before!  Yesterday we went to glow-in-the-dark mini-golf.  We also like bowling and board games.  I found out recently that a liquor store in our area offers wine tasting and other drink courses.  For Christmas I bought us tickets to the “cozy fireside drinks” one.  But I miss our old city we used to live in, they had lots of great stuff in the park by our house (festivals, skating, movies on a big screen etc)

@Brianalaura: I’ve been bugging mine to do glow-in-the-dark minigolf with me for weeks!  He’ll do it, I just have to catch him in the right mood.

We also went to the zoo this summer, we watch a lot of movies, we collect and play board games, and once we drove two hours to the beach just to have lunch and come home because he was new in town and had never been there.

@deliciousappleblue: I’ve been saying we should go to the zoo!  Hahaha!  It was fun, and I got FOUR hole in ones.  Best round of mini golf I’ve played in my life!

@Brianalaura: The zoo is my annual tradition, and this year he was freshly moved in and able to come, so we’ll be doing that every summer from now on. 🙂  It’s open every day except Christmas, you should definitely go.  I want to go bowling with him too, but I haven’t asked him seriously yet, because I never make it through a night of bowling without breaking at least two nails. 😉

@BurlapAndLace: That is so neat!  I don’t think I’d want to go to the zoo right now as it’s so cold here (-16 celsius with the windchill, yuck).  But the lights thing is really awesome!  I wish they did that in Toronto!
