I would definitely not go to a wedding on Thanksgiving weekend, and many people may be out of town or the price may be too high for many people to travel. I would 100% go with November 10.

My fiance and I had considered setting our date closer to Thanksgiving (we were thinking the 23rd), but after discussing this potential date with family and friends we realized it would be a bad idea.  Thanksgiving (and even the weeks surrounding it) can be a hectic time for a lot of people, and even my mom said she wouldn’t like having to travel around that time if it was for a wedding (even the wedding of her only child!).

We then opted for Saturday, November 9th.  I’d say go for November 10th.  Every time we’ve mentioned our date to others, we get a very positive reaction.  Things like, “Oh, it’s such a beautiful time of year!”  No one ever mentions Thanksgiving, so I think it’s far enough away from the holiday to prevent any issues.

Definitely November 10. A lot of people have strong family traditions that they might not want to break during Thanksgiving. I think it would be easier to get people to take a day off of work for the November 10 wedding then it would be to get them to come during Thanksgiving break.

I would talk to your important guests (immediate family & bridal party) and see what they would prefer.

I might not pick either of these dates. The Saturday after Thanksgiving I would be hosting family and not want to leave my home. I don’t get Veteran’s Day off so I probably wouldn’t want to go to an evening wedding or I’d leave early.

2 Days removed from Thanksgiving isn’t actually that bad–you’ve got time to send out StD cards so people will be able to plan and it’s a Saturday which is always easiest for travel. I’ve done cakes for weddings that weekend and everyone seemed to be of the mind that family’s already gathered, why not party?

I’m doing 11-12-13. It’s a destination wedding so the fact that it’s a Tuesday is no biggie. Whoever comes will be taking vacation for it.

    I vote for the 10th.

Thanksgiving weekend is so  hectic with family (trying to see all their family over the course of the weekend), Black friday, shopping frenzy begins and eating lots of turkey. Then people are tired from seeing all their family, cleaning, cooking more than usual.
