Originally we wanted it to be a Friday in June because we are celebrating our 8th anniversary that month, but our officiant (who is a family member) wasn’t available then, so we went with the next available Friday and voila – July 4th. In Canada it’s just a regular ol’ date unlike America. If it wasn’t I wouldn’t have picked it.

A combination of all the options. We chose our date based on our own availability.
We got engaged in September 2012, Fiance was going back to school in January 2013 for 24 consecutive months. We wanted a summer wedding and the only break he has is two weeks in August 2013 and 2014.
Based on all this we chose our date because it fell within his break and gave us enough time to plan alongside school/work/life/etc,
After we chose the date several other factors came about that added meading to it. Its the same weekend my parents were married, its my grandmother’s (who died before I was born) birthday…just to name a few.

@a_day_at_the_fair: We originally chose the 13th of September 2014 but got double booked by our venue, so when we found our venue we pretty much just had to get a new date. I was upset at first as it’s nice when dates have special value (our date was the day I got baptised as an adult and SO was incredibly proud), but any date you choose will be special! We are excited about our new date because now we get to marry 2 weeks earlier, and it is the second last day of Winter, so our honeymoon will be the start of Spring 🙂

@a_day_at_the_fair: I fell head over heels in love with the venue. When we looked at dates, it was the only date available in the March or April months that we wanted to get married in, so that made our decision very simple!
