That is exactly how we did it. Got the big stuff we cared most about out of the way and so far the rest of it has been smooth sailing. That is too bad NY has restrictions on who can officiate your wedding, we are having our friend do it. But best of luck with the planning and congrats!!

I think in New York you can get someone ‘ordained’ online to perform the ceremony.

With respect the to the DJ, try Hank Lane.  They work a lot in the area and have a rolodex of DJs, musicians, etc.  They come recommended by many venues in the area.
