We’ll be spending our 1st anniversary at a family member’s wedding too. Just think of it this way… What better way to celebrate your anniversary than to spend it toasting true love?

I second maryjane… I think a wedding is a great way to spend a 1st anniversary!

At least you know you’ll be together! I think that’d actually make it more fun – you can dress up and have a night “out” together for your anniversary. We always end up working on our anniversaries… life just gets in the way.

I agree with most things here. Is it a bummer, maybe. But it’ll also be great to have a party and celebration to attend. You can spend the night remembering your own wedding.

Maybe you can make a long weekend out of it – take an extra day off work, check into a hotel different than the one the wedding party/guests are at, and then you can retreat to your romantic little place after the wedding!

I too would be a little bummed but at the same time agree with other posters in saying that it would be a great celebration. You can share a dance, maybe you could request your wedding song to be played?
