I got my measurements today as I was trying the Beryl fit and flare dress for the 2nd time. I’m pretty sure I am going to pick that dress. I’m just not sure about the sizing. I think the bust and waist would be perfect for a 2, my bust was actually a 0 and waist was 0-2 but they said my hip measurement is a 4. So if I pick the 4 I would have to get the waist and bust altered. I was suprised to see they measured my hips at a 37 other places it was smaller but I feel like other places pulled a little tighter and this place wasn’t so much. I’ve actually never measured a 37 hip before. So I’m not sure what to think about that but two different women at that same store did measurements and they both got 37. So do i get a 2 and have a little tighter hip, maybe let it out a wee bit or stretch it? or get the 4 and have to do significant alterations on the bust and waist? Any other David Tutera brides out there?

My dress isn’t a David Tutera and I’m in Australia so the sizings are a bit different BUT my bust and waist both were equal to a size 4 yet my hips were a size 6 so I ordered a size 6 and will get the top altered when it comes in. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to see it yet to tell you if this was worth it or not but because the dress is fitted around my hips the last thing I want is for it to be too tight there and risk ripping or it causing problems when I try and sit down.

I talked to the shop today and I’ll try it in again but they said similar probably get the size for the hip and alter the top. They said this is common for most brides so I feel better about that.

I have the same problem, but my gown is an a-line/mermaid hybrid. I got the size that fits my hips, even though I have a corset back so it won’t be too many alterations. If it was a zipper, I would still rather take in than let out. If the hips are too tight it may be uncomfortable sitting!
