I used to work for DB. For alts, it depends on the dress and what you need done. Unless they changed the pricing since I left (which they very well could have), bridal hems start at $95, bustle starts at $35 and sides (if I remember right) also start at $35. Prices go up from there depending on beading, difficulty, layers, etc… Most of the alts tickets I remember ringing up fell between $200 and $300…..but like I said, it totally depends on what you need done.

To be honest, I work for another bridal shop now and our alts costs are pretty close to the same. Bridal shops will charge more for alterations than, say, a local tailor. They just do. If you have a seamstress/tailor you know and trust their work, it will probably be cheaper to go to them.

I got my alterations done in May of last year. For my hustle, they charged $5 per point, and I had 7. I also had the straps shortened. Other than that, I didn’t do any alterations. Unfortunately I can’t remembe the exact cost but the bustle was $35 total (definitely) and the straps may have been around $20 (sort of a guess.)

I haven’t had my alterations yet, but I talked to a lady in the alterations department to get an idea of how much it would be. For my dress I was told a hem would be $120 (their starting price) she also said ballgowns would be more, having the sides taken in would be 65, unless they have to go through the arms, then it’d be more, and if I remember correctly, the bustle is 50 for the first 3 then $5 for each additional bustle point.

I misspoke about my bustle – it just have been $50 for the first 3 then $5 for every one after that, like PP.
