I think that you have to pay up front. But to be honest, I dont trust DB enough to have it altered by them. Plus they charge alot more than an independent seamstress.

I’ve had 2 bridesmaid dresses altered at DB, and they did a craptastic job both times. Find an independent seamstress. Don’t trust DB.

You pay at your first alterations fitting. They did an excellent job with my dress.

@Shannon51293: I completely agree with previous comments. They tried to get me to buy a 32B bra when I’m a 34DDD. I asked to speak to the alterations lady and she (alterations lady) said it looked perfect and I wouldn’t need alterations despite my dress and boobs being very very low. I felt like a sausage (I was busting out everywhere) and my boobs looked like a saggy 90yr old woman’s …and to them it looked “great.” I’m going somewhere else for sure!

@Shannon51293:  I worked at Davids Bridal as a customer service rep. and as bad as it sounds, I do not trust them one bit.. I have seen horrible things happen with alterations, and the way the company runs things, they cause an even bigger headache with wedding planning. You pay during your first fitting and trust me, if you getting more than a hem, prepare for a hefty price tag. My advice… RUN, and go elsewhere
