YalieR:  Here’s my DB dress! I think it was $950 + tax – so under $1000 is totally doable!

I hope you have an early appt at Davids. I went once at 9:30 a.m. and had a great experience, We were the only ones in the store! And went with one of my girlfriends at 3 p.m. and had an awful experience. It was SO BUSY!

Congrats on being so close to your dream dress! I purchased my dress from DB’s Vera Wang collection and managed to snag it for a total steal at $499! My advice is to be completely honest and upfront with your consultant about your budget and what style you’re looking for. If she pulls one dress out that you know you already don’t like, don’t humor her (or anyone else there with you) by trying it on. You only have a limited amount of time so don’t waste it by trying on dresses you already dislike. Sure, it can be totally useful to try on styles and shapes you might not have expected, but make sure it’s at least a dress that has elements you know you already like (example, I knew I wanted a ballgown, but I did try on a couple mermaids just to see what they were like on me so I made sure they were simple ballgowns without a lot of lace or beading and a tulle flare since I like those elements best).

Anyway, here is my gown!
