@Pupperoni:  The sample might have been ordered with extra length. But they should have mentioned that to you when you tried it on.

My bridesmaid got her dress during the week, when she tried it on the top of the dress is so low cut and baggy that it’ll need to be altered.  It’s the exact same size she tried on and that one in the store wouldn’t have needed anything other than the hem.

I don’t know what is up with David Bridal, but needless to say, I am NOT pleased with anything that our local store does.  I am dreading my alterations with them!  I hope they don’t back out of doing what they agreed they would do!  Otherwise I will be royally pissed and make a scene in that store! haha

Best thing to do is to call and talk to a manager.  hopefully they can settle it for you

@Pupperoni:  If possible, I would bring the dress with you to the store to compare it to the sample. It should be clear that they messed up and either your dress was made too short (unlikely since its probably made from a pattern) or that the sample dress was ordered with extra length (which they should have known and informed you of). They should be warning anyone who the dress could be too short on that they need to order extra length. If possible have them pull up your measurements from when you ordered the dress and the sizing chart (which should mention how tall you need to be to need extra length). If your measurements at the time indicate you needed extra length you have a case. If the sample dress has extra length and they didn’t tell you that then you have a case as well. I would demand a refund or a new dress. When is the wedding? If the sample is the right color you could buy that one off the rack, or they might be able to sell you a sample from another store off the rack if the date is very close.

@Pupperoni:  I would complain about the fact that you couldn’t try it on when you picked it up too. I wore a DB bridesmaid dress winter ’11 and they let me try it on before I left.
