Hello Bees’
does anyone know if you can apply a deposit you already made toward one dress onto another? My fiance and I have had some unexpected financial issues come up and now I don’t think it’s wise for me to spend as much as I was planning on my dress when there are other things the money set aside for the dress need to be spent on. If anyone knows if I can do this, please let me know. Thanks!

Just to clairify: I have not yet 100% purchased this dress. it is still on layway for me to pay it off. I have only paid the initial deposit on it in January. I was going to fully pay off the remaining 600+ dollars when my taxes came in, but like I said we had an unexpected financial situation.

i know i already ordered 5 bridesmaids dresses and one bm was let go so once the dress comes in i am allowed to exchange it for anything else as long as its 129.99.
best bet is to call and ask the store specifically

#1 make sure you have your receipt (it will be easier), if you don’t have it they can look you up in the system
#2 they’re going to make you exchange for = or greater value or for the same item different color
A couple of months ago, when I called about an exchange, they acted like they were going out of their way to do it and that it wasn’t normal but it is! Don’t let them try to convince you otherwise. My friend ordered a dress, it came in wrong, and they gave her store credit. I sold my sash to another bee, sent the receipt along with it and she was able to exchange for the same one different color. I did a total exchange of my dress, less expensive for slightly more expensive.

I’m not sure how it would work concerning your layaway. I bought my initial dress there and ended up hating it. The sales lady said it was a final sale, but the floor manager came over and said they would give me a store credit no problem. It worked out fine for me because we got the bridesmaids dresses there instead.
I guess my point is, they may not allow you to just get a cheaper dress – however, they would give you a store credit which you could partially use for a new dress and spend the rest on the accessories they have there that you will probably need anyway.
Good luck!

Since its layaway and the dress has not yet been ordered you should be able to cancel and they will return the money to your card or give you cash depending on how you paid. I think there may be a small cancellation fee, but it will allow you to get the dress you want. Your best bet is to call and talk to a manager because they have the final say.

Thanks so much for all of the help ladies! Here is hoping I can find another dress I love just as much as the one I have to give away…IF they let me do it. Thanks again! 🙂
