Looking at all the beautiful pictures posted of dresses, I can always tell when the bride is at David’s Bridal. Anyone else think the stores need a HUGE update? The backdrop is just plain UGLY!
I only say this because the first David’s Bridal experience I had was at a brand new location in Scottsdale, AZ. The dressing rooms were actual rooms with doors – large enough for you and your consultant to fit. And the ambiance felt like a boutique instead of a cheap strip mall.
I purchased my dress from the Scottsdale David’s Bridal. I bet they’d sell more dresses (since the dresses are beautiful) if they classed up their “look”. Thoughts?

Totally agree! I have tried on LOTS of dresses (another story for another time) and I don’t find the quality of DB dresses to be any different from similarly priced gowns. It’s just the store itself that makes me feel like I’ve walked into the WalMart of bridal.
By The Way, there’s another AZ bee who shopped at the store you’re talking about (I think) and she had great things to say about it as well.

I always refer to David’s Bridal as the Applebee’s of Bridal Salons. The dresses aren’t terrible, but every time I go to one they are absolutely drowning in bridesmaids and there are never enough consultants, so service is always terrible (I’ve been to quite a few different ones.) An update is most definitely needed.

@ScottsdaleBride: oh yeah, I also agree. I never need to ask where they got their dress lol (not saying Davids is bad or anything since I got my Melissa Sweet from them.)

I completley agree. I purchased my dress from DB and I love it, but the service was definitely subpar. I went a few times to try on dresses, never worked with the same consultant (even though I had an appointment each time) and had to start over with each new consultant, telling her what I liked and didn’t like. I don’t think I would recommend them to any other brides out there.

@ScottsdaleBride: totally agree.. I went to the db in Glendale and it was so packed.. You come out of the room and are out there for everyone to see.. It’s easy to tell which pics are from David’s bridal.. They do have some georgeous dresses but they need an updated layout inside. i went and bought my dress at a nice bridal boutique in Scottsdale and it made my dress shopping experience much like a say yes to the dress moment 🙂

It looks like a special David’s Bridal store called “Collections”. There’s currently only 2 in existence. http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/misc?contentName=/Bridal_Gowns/db_collections

Agree! I have been to two DB’s — a local one (that did NOT carry Vera Wang White) and one a little south of me (that did carry VWW). While my consultant at the second one was wonderful, I wasn’t impressed with the overall service (I had to wait 35 minutes past my appointment time!) or the ambiance. Love my dress, but am glad I will never set foot in that store again. I won’t even traumatize my BM’s with the experience.. haha..
That being said, I did have some not-so-great experiences at other bridal boutiques, as well, so DB isn’t the only bridal store immune to this.

Just be glad you’re allowed to take photos! most of the places here have a strict no photography policy.
