Welcome! Have you been able to take the color swatches into DB’s to hold up to the dress? I would try and get a color that has the same tone. They don’t necessarily have to be the same shade. Trying to match everything to one particular color will drive you batty. It’s near impossible. If you want the dresses and the linens to match, I would look at ordering the linen color that best compliments the dresses.

Otherwise, do you have a second color you are using that you could buy either the dresses or the linens in? Like my wedding is blue and green. My girls are wearing green, so I’m getting blue chair sashes. (We’re doing plain white/ivory linens.) You could use the other color instead of trying match perfectly.

Not to sound mean/weird, but are the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses going to be the same color as the table cloths then?  Or you just like the color?  I just think it might be too matchy if they are.

My daughter is getting married in September and her bridesmaid dresses are in Lapsis from David’s Bridal.  She’s decided to go with Ivory linens (her dress is Ivory) and we’ve made some simple table runners in a dark purple fabric that matches perfectly with the Lapsis dresses.   Adding the hint of color rather than trying to find table linens in a similar color seemed to be the right choice.  We purchased the fabric from Joanne’s.

I am getting married in September. Our colors are black and white with lapis and victorian lilac as accent colors. My guys are wearing the lapis and the girls the lilac. the reception is black and white with splashes of both purples. we are alternating the tablecloths and the runner colors. I hope I made the right color shoices! GOOD LUCK!!!

I’m also using the DB Lapis colored dresses; my colors are ivory, black and Lapis.  I’m not trying too hard to match the lapis; I wont go batty.  Although for my centerpieces I did find Lapis colored sand (which matches DB lapis) and will have ivory candles in a glass vase, with lapis and ivory sand beneath the candle.  I’m accenting a lot in black … some silver… and ivory.  It’s turning out beautifully!  The sand can be found at http://www.sandsationalsparkle.com/

I was having the same problem as you (my colors are deep purple and fushia). I actually ended up going with a B2 dress that was in taffeta because the purple was a bit iridescent. I think it will be much easier to find table linens that don’t clash! Any luck finding dark purple table clothes at a reasonable price?
